The following project was done when I was a student at Brigham Young University Idaho majoring in Fashion Design. Part of that major, we were tasked to design a site and put together a working fashion portfolio. This site was a collection of pieces I created, styled, and where I drew my inspiration from.
I was given the opportunity to showcase my fashion design skills through an online portfolio, so I wanted to do the best I could to create something memorable. So to start, I started to research different website hosting platforms that I was easily able to create a professional portfolio on. I found Wix after doing some research, and really like how accessible and user friendly it felt for me. I then made an account and started making my website portfolio.
As I went along, I chose a color scheme. I wanted something that had a sleek and luxurious timeless effect, so I chose a black and white color palette. I felt with this design choice it elevated the site and made it look professional.
The first page of the website that I designed was the home page. I wanted to add some movement and interactivity to this page, so if you click into the site, you can see as you scroll down the page, how the main image moves. Click on the image below to go to the site!

In this site I added different tabs that showed my design work such as a sewing portfolio, which showed the garments I made, a style tab, as well as an inspiration tab. I felt by adding these three sections I was able to showcase my creativity and projects. The following are pictures from each section.
I really enjoyed this project as I was able to put together something I was proud of and showcase my design work while majoring in Fashion Design. This was the first site I put together and my first time ever using Wix. Looking back, I can recognize this site was a turning point for me, as I was able to make a shift in wanting to change majors and pursue web design instead. I still really enjoy fashion, and the entire design process around sewing and creating a new garment, so that being said, I am still open to going back down the fashion route and possibly pursuing that career.
The next pages I tackled were the About and Resume tabs. These tabs were pretty straight forward but were overall fun to create and play around with the format of the page. Below is a picture of these pages.
